I don't know a lot about it but Monokuma mentioned that two previous games happened before this one. I don't know if the one Kyouko and I were in was the first or the second, but it's definitely one of the two.
I also didn't recognize a lot of the people there but I think I was participating again. The same thing with Kyouko...

The bear definitely can't be choosing at random if you ended up in at least two separate games. Perhaps some survivors from a previous game were forced into another one. Of course, there's only so much we can guess at when we know so little about Monokuma and whoever may be behind him.

No, the memory was pretty short so I didn't get to know the details...
I just know that it took place in some kind of board room, Monokuma was on a TV screen, and I don't recognize anyone in the room asides from Kyouko. A lot of the people in the room didn't look like high school students though. They looked older.
