[ !!! those def sound like footsteps, holy shit, this really is turning into a horror movie. ]
--is someone else here?!
[ in low whisper and no shit but oh man oh man okay he just cups the flashlight on his phone, preventing the beam of light from going any further than a step away from them ]
[ The light from the moon shines through the windows after being uncovered by the clouds, peeking into the hallway of numerous lockers. Daisuke squints to see if there's anyone there, but he doesn't see anything. ]
We should get out of here before someone sees us--
[ the footsteps are coming from the direction they came in so they gotta go the other way. naegi will let daisuke go first since he's gotta be!! the big bro!! but also, it's been a while since he's been back in this school, he might not remember its layout as well as he does ]
[ At first, Daisuke is confused. Naegi yells "this way", so he expected Naegi to lead, but when it looks like he, himself, has to lead, he'll just grab onto Naegi's hand and runs for it with the posterboard in the other hand. Since he still regularly attends school, it's very easy for him to figure out where he's going, even though it's dark. The light from Naegi's phone does help though, even if it isn't pointed in the right direction from time to time (probably).
He eventually makes it to where they came from, the window. They had to take a long way around because the the directions the footsteps were coming from were completely blocking the shorter route. At least they made it. Daisuke shoves the posterboard out the window, almost flinging it if there was more room. ]
Come on...! I don't think we have time to close the window!
[ naegi nods in agreement and he's scrambling out the window. in fact, he is in such a crazy frenzy to get out that he actually trips and lands face first into the ground but the adrenaline is pumping through him so it doesn't really hurt. ]
Let's go...!
[ he'll get back up to help daisuke through the window and make sure that he doesn't trip as well. better hurry because oh god those footsteps are getting closer, aren't they?? ]
[ Yup, they're getting closer and closer. It's actually a wonder as to why it hasn't sped up. It can probably hear them both because the boys aren't exactly being quiet either.
With Naegi's help, Daisuke makes it out the window easily and he scoops up the poster board from the ground. Time to make a break for it...! He makes sure to see that Naegi is ready to run and holds his hand before... pretty much running for their lives. ]
[ they can run for a few blocks until they feel like they're safe. just know that naegi is super unathletic and look at him, he's pathetic. he will just die once they finally stop ]
[ naegi puts a hand on daisuke's shoulder to stand back up properly as he tries to take deep breaths and places his other hand on his chest to make sure that it doesn't explode ]
Daisuke thinks about the idea of working in the same place as Naegi. It would be nice to have someone he knows there. Maybe he could even walk back home with him, if schedules were willing. ]
It sounds nice... but I want to look around first before I make any decisions. I feel like this year will be hectic with the app and all.
[ Not to mention that Daisuke has a running streak of somehow being Unable To Submit His Resume because of external factors like suddenly being paranoid about whether he left the oven on at home. ]
[ naegi really really really hopes that he'll be okay this year, now that he's on the app. he just wants to finish school and work his two jobs without any hassle ok.... ]
Asides from commissions, maybe we should start selling merch online as well.
[ can't believe that they were probably doing decent on their sales until the monsters attacked and ruined everything ]
I see a lot of people on Tumblr and Twitter setting up shops on Etsy or Storenvy so we could probably do the same? Though I think you have to draw in the really popular fandoms to get a wider audience.
That's true... We had to do that for our convention sales too. I'll have to get into practice of drawing those kinds of characters again. Then there's the shipping... maybe if someone from Recolle buys it, it'll be cheaper. Maybe we can even do a personal delivery?
[ He's already thinking of ways to cut the fees. ]

Alright, let's get outta here. It shouldn't be too hard to leave this school. Just gotta go back to where we came from--
[ In the distance, there are footsteps. ]

I... I think we're... good...

[ Daisuke is quick to recover from running so much and offers to help support Naegi stand by lending him his shoulder. ]
Good thing our house isn't so far... let me help you.

Thanks... is your poster board okay?

[ What is this... good luck?! Something good happened?! Well, Daisuke will be sure to relish in the moment for now. ]
Do you think you're going to need another heat pad?
no subject
Maybe...
[ either the heat pad or those sticky cool pain relief patches... ]
I'm only 20. I don't know if I should getting back pain already.
no subject
Maybe we should look into a chiropractor... I heard it has long lasting effects on our backs.

[ A COUCH... PLEASE... they've been living like three years without one?? ]

[ Stick with the heat pads, Naegi. ]
I should start sending resumes again... my commissions aren't enough.
no subject
Do you want me to ask around at work? We might have part-time positions open.
[ that little cafe that naegi works at, I still need to think of deets but yes, probably can ask before the wanted signs go up ]

It frustrates him a little. ]
Why didn't I think of that before...? It worked fine during the convention.
