Yeah, acting is a pretty hard career to get into but you don't have to be just an actress? You could also be a drama teacher or work in theatre production.
I mean, I'm an artist so I know all about high risk careers...
Then I think going into acting isn't a bad idea at all. There are a lot of theatre performances and you have more opportunities than film.
That's not what I'm saying at all! I think community college is a great idea and if you want to go for it, then you should. All I'm saying is that a post-secondary education, in general, is good to have and that you still need to study. If you want to go to college instead, you should definitely talk to your parents.
it's still not a super realistic career though and i'm not confident that i want to do it yet so i'm still keeping my mind open
i think it's dumb that it's valued so much when it's worthless but unfortunately we live in stupid times so i'll have to get a degree of some sort regardless
Do you have any other interests or possible careers paths?
And do you want me to talk to your parents about potentially considering college? I mean, they're the ones who want you to go to university and that's why they hired me...
like i just said, i dunno yet! it's way too early for that kind of thing
nah, i'll just talk to them about where i stand it's really their decision in the end either they can get me into university or let me go to community college so they'll have to figure out what they want themselves

and work's for suckers

it's okay
you can admit it's not worth the effort
no subject
That's not true! Why would you think that?
no subject
nobody likes to work if they can avoid it
that's the advice of somebody who didn't know any better and got tricked
no subject
Like all the hard work you'd do in grade 12 will help you get into university.
no subject
see, that's easier

they're just the ones who really want me to go to a university
so it's more for them than me anyway
i'd be fine at a community college or whatever
no subject
no subject
i have c's, that's enough i'm pretty sure
no subject
But do you really want to go to a community college instead of a university?
no subject
there's not much of a difference anyway
s'long as i can get a job, i don't care about how i get there
no subject
Then okay, what kind of job do you want? Maybe I can at least help you out on that.
[ since if her parents are paying him to be her mentor, he might as well HELP OUT even if she's being... yeah....... ]
no subject
it's way too early to make that kind of call
[ She's really wondering what the hell her parents were thinking, hiring someone as clueless as this... ]
i mean, i was joking about the model thing but it wouldn't be terrible
and i like acting a lot
but that's a high-risk career

I mean, I'm an artist so I know all about high risk careers...

if i go into acting i'd want to actually ACT
if i can't be on stage it's not worth it
also i'm pretty sure you shouldn't be looking down on people without college degrees if that's the case
no subject
I'm not looking down on people! I just know that it's important to have one...
no subject
like i said, that's what i'd want to do in the first place
i don't think film would be half as exciting
it kind of sounds like you are
like you're already saying that community college is worse than university
no subject
That's not what I'm saying at all! I think community college is a great idea and if you want to go for it, then you should. Okay. Then in the meanwhile, how about I just help you with your studies with the goal of college in mind?
